Cosmic Horror: Some Form of Obliteration

Hello…

Welcome to another podcast featuring Jackson and Daniel. This one is about… nothing. We have vague recollections of discussing the ins-and-outs of the Cosmic Horror genre… but by now it’s all blackness and static.

The only things survive the haze of madness are these recommendations:

This week you should play Overwatch

This week you should read The Langoliers by Stephen King, which can be found in the collection Four Past Midnight.

This week you should watch Erase

You should play Kingdom Hearts

You should watch Cosmos

You should read the 5th Edition D&D Player’s Handbook

Platformers: Divorce Proceedings

Hello everyone!

This week Daniel and Jackson are talking about one of the darling genres of retro gaming – the platformer. It turns out it is a harder genre to define than you may think. Listen as Jackson and Daniel finally come to blows! Well, not really… Not yet.

This week you should watch Orange is the New Black

This week you should read The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman

This week you should play They Breathe

The Dark Knight Rises: No More D*ck Puns

Here it is ladies and gentlemen, the last chapter in our chronicle at the most recent series of Batman films. It’s been a blast, especially having Chelsea on the show, but all good things must come to an end.

In the spirit of the season, we have included recommendations of our favourite holiday movies and music, and Dan even managed to work in a video game. We’ll be back on the other side of Christmas with a look at Tolkein and his influence on the fantasy genre as a whole. We hope you enjoy the intervening time, whether you celebrate the season or not 🙂
