Pokemon 5: “Y’all some snakes”

Hello again everyone!

Welcome to our review of Pokemon Sun & Moon. We welcome Quinn aka CommanderSanta from the AYBTV podcast to help us go over the new games and muse about Pokemon in general.

As always, beware of spoilers if you’re playing through the games yourself, and enjoy our recommendations:

This week you should listen to Hello From the Magic Tavern from the Chicago Podcast Co-Op

This week you should watch the Netflix-exclusive continuation of Gilmore Girls

While you’re on Netflix, you should probably also check out Black Mirror

You should also check out the things Quinn is involved in. You can start here: https://www.facebook.com/CommanderSaNtAOfficial/?fref=ts

Pokemon GO: Toppling Porn

Hey everyone!

As inevitable as Niantic’s eventual world domination, so too is our podcast about Pokemon GO. Being Pokemon fans whose love of the franchise has endured throughout the years, Jackson and Daniel have both downloaded the game and have been playing it regularly since its release.

Brad joins our hosts to discuss the ins-and-outs of the game, what they like and don’t like, and some tips for any listeners who might be thinking of getting the game themselves.

We also have some recommendations for you:

This week you should play Neverwinter

This week you should read The Devourers by Indra Das

This week you should watch Stranger Things and Powers

Pokemon 4: My Bread and Butter

Hey guys!

Daniel and Jackson realized after last time that they completely missed a huge portion of the Pokemon franchise in their discussion. This week they’re back to put a proper end on their conversations.

This episode is focusing on some of the varied branches that have sprouted from the main trunk of the brand. Things like the TCG, the spin-off games, and the contributions the series has made to greater properties like Smash Bros.

As always, recommendations are included:

This week you should play Fire Emblem: Fates

This week you should watch Deadpool (especially in theatres)

This week you should read The Great Gatsby

Pokemon 3: Cartoonishly Evil

Hi everyone!

This week, we have a podcast that Daniel and Jackson are very excited for.

While our hosts have broached the topic of Pokemon before – their second podcast being a review of X and Y – it was within a very specific context. This time, in honour of the 20th anniversary of the franchise, they are taking on the whole shebang.

The two of them are discussing the lasting appeal of Pokemon, what it means to them, and which games you should play if you want to get the most out of catching ’em all.

Speaking of things you should be doing:

This week you should play Long Live the Queen

This week you should read wehuntedthemammoth.com

This week you should watch Inside Out

Pokemon 2: Lost in the Wilderness

As a Christmas present to themselves, Jackson and Daniel decided that they could finally let themselves ramble for a full podcast about Pokemon. Sure, the recent release of Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby makes a good pre-tense for the discussion, but let’s be honest, it was just a convenient excuse.

To keep you amused over the frigid holidays, they recommend:

You should play Child of Light

You should listen to Harmony of Heroes

You should read Lost at Sea by Brian Lee O’Malley

Have a great new year everyone!

Pokemon Halloween: “Hey man, wanna buy a Mew?”

The second podcast has arrived! This time there’s guests, lots of talking about Pokemon, and some things you should watch/read/play before getting your costume on for Halloween.

We’re slowly learning the ropes or recording and working WordPress. Our current priority is figuring out a way to make the podcasts downloadable for you from this site.

There will also be more blog-type posts released as supplementary material for the podcasts, both Daniel and I will be chiming in with some stuff we may have missed and still want to address.

I hope you enjoy what we’ve got for you this week. On November 9, we’ll channel the lingering scent of evil left over from Halloween and talk about villains.

– Jackson
